In this episode we are going to discuss one of the biggest myths in the fitness industry.

Accordingly to many so called gurus in order to keep our metabolism going and burn fat more effectively we have to consume smaller frequent meals throughout the day.

When I started training for the first time, I was not well informed of how exactly things work, so I used to follow this principle for around 3 long years.

This brought me some very bad experiences.

During these years I massively suffered from all kinds of the side effects such as malabsorption of nutrients, chronic fatigue, permanent brain fog, blood sugar fluctuations, bloated stomach and even hyper tension.

I was not building muscle, nor burning stubborn fat.

I had to deal with the moon face effect year around, but this was not the worst.

Because all of that the same 3 years were extremely unproductive for me.
I had such a hard time to focusing on my daily tasks.

I was doing no more that 5 workouts per week, because I was afraid I am going to overtrain and feel even more tired.

Later this changed. . .

After adapting to KETO and later to OMAD, I figured out what were the exact reasons for all of the suffering I had.

When eating frequent meals trough the day, people eliminate every possibility to allow their bodies to use the stored fat as a primary energy source.

Being able to tap to those stores as fuel is the most essential way for humans to live.

Every time food is ingested, the body switches from fat burning to a fat storing mode.

Smaller or not, eating frequent meals during the day leads to constant digestion. This requires a lot of energy and processing.

Matter of fact, food digestion is probably the most energy and time consuming activity in our daily life.

In order to turn the new food into a bioavailable fuel source, human body has to use the already available energy.

What I’ve learned:

The bigger, the fasting window is, the more fat I am able to burn.

Make no mistake same results would not be accomplished if using junk or processed food.

Picking the right food choices is something that play a key role as well.

Applying the OMAD to a highly nutritious diet, not only speeds up metabolism, but also optimizes levels of human growth hormone and testosterone.

All of these are vitally important when it comes to burning fat and building muscle.

The prolonged fasted periods also allow the digestive system to relax and the liver to detox.

The best way to increase metabolism is to alternate them with smaller feeding windows.

Examples of this are eating patterns such as:
OMAD, Warrior Diet, 20/4 and 16/8.

Because of the longer fasts the improved sensitivity followed by a caloric overload is a shock that helps with the better utilization of nutrients.

It also helps to have more energy and mental clarity.

Based on years of experimenting and self observation I noticed, the more energy I have, the more leaner I stay.

This of course is another reason why I stick with the lifestyle I developed.

Eating frequent meals trough the day was killing my ability to enter the higher state of performance, I am in nowadays. I will not sacrifice it for anything.

Now I absorb everything way more effectively.
Often it makes me feel like my body knows exactly what to do with every single gram of fat, protein or carb.

Eating multiple meals is something that interferes with my ability to get the most out of my day and the most out of my workouts.

Because of the fact I do not spend energy on food processing and absorption, I am able to hit the gym harder, without any side effects.

My top recommendations on how to increase metabolism:

#1. Apply OMAD or other intermittent fasting protocol to an adequate to your personal needs paleo diet.

#2. Use high volume resistant training on empty stomach. Mostly free weights.

#3. Hyper hydration during the fast.
I prefer spring water, since is a lot less taxing on the kidneys and I am able to excrete it a lot easier.

#4. Plenty of high quality organic coffee.
I either use multiple cups of large americano or a lot of french presses.

Food for thought :

Most often the supplement companies promote the statement you need frequent meals, because 2 simple reasons.

*They want to make sure, you will buy their pre and post workout products.

On one meal a day those become useless.
My pre workout is home made french press and my post one is the same.

*Intermittent fasting cannot be sold. It simply cannot be putted it in a box or jar.

In the end of the day it is all about you.
The best recommendation is to try and see for yourself.

In the end of the day there are scientific evidences that

support both statements

I can guarantee you are going to be amazed of the results, but I also do not try to convince you to do anything or to buy any product.

I hope that helps
