Since I can remember I always been heavily impressed and in the same way inspired by the certain artworks and covers. Those covers of records along with few other thins actually have major influence on the creating process of my own record covers.
Without a doubt First record that I would like to mention Is the
DJ QBERT Battle breaks which was the first ever “BRAND NEW” battle break I ever had. Back in the day when I started scratching a person that use to hang out with me a lot brought me this record from japan as a gift. knowing my passion for HIPHOP and SCRATCHING.
Next on the list I will put Ultimate breaks and beats Specially the “production tools” Music Factory edition when I saw these 2 records I told to my self…
WTF???
“How awesome is this to produce an awesome beats and in the someway look awesome AF ” . Because the covers jacked and muscled look of them producers on the cover”
(V- taper, huge gun, sick pecks , broad delts and etc )
I want to look like this and make sick beats and scratches
The ribbons and the other ornaments symbolize the connection that I keep with my childhood dreams, because of the stories with magic spells and fairy tells and all that good stuff. The combination with all the stars and planets and space dust is trying to bring the idea that the whole thing Is basically a dream for me. A Dream I turned into reality.
I always had this association thing with dreams and stars, because of the stuff that I use to watch when I was a little kid
Stuff like (Voltron, Saber rider and the star sheriffs , transformers etc.)
And now on the other hand I feel am also deeply inspired by artworks of TRAP Mixtapes or albums. Which are actual photos of the Artists/MCS that has that like a vintage type of “old book look”
The mirrored image of me it is a symbol of the spiritual connection that I have with myself and my body. And basically me joining forces with me… Like a one man army. Or a team work that is done by one. I am my own crew or squad.
This is what I do when I join forces with myself using the sketched stuff as a tools
On the bottom stands the “BEAT MACHINE” . Because The beats are the foundation of everything. Without BEATS There will be no ALBUM nor MIXTAPE or whatever . And in the end of the day It is PETONHEBEAT not PETE ON SMTH else 🙂
The whole thing is Mixture of everything I mentioned.
