In this post I will introduce you to one of the if not best natural nootropic stack you can have. Even though it is underestimated by many, it is very powerful and completely safe. Do not go with the average coffees in the supermarkets. If needed invest a bit more money and get a product that has at least one organic certificate. In fact by searching a bit more, you’re going to be able to find some great product on reasonable price.

Here I will also share with you that I recently felt in love with a specific kind produced by fairly unknown and rare brand. Even though it is organic the coffee costs far less than many of the average non organic ones in supermarkets. It is also the cheapest from all of the organic types I’ve tried since I became biohacker and coffee snob back in 2014.

Preparation matters
For best taste grind your beans just before you brew them. For the hardcore coffee snobs the freshly grind beans always make differenceBrewing method also plays it’s own key role. Therefore use french press, so you can get the most out of the quality beans you bought. French press is the only method that really spares all of the coffee’s essential oils. 

Pay attention to the ratio
The best ratio would be 2:1. That means 200mg of L –theanin sprinkled in cup of black coffee which contains approximately 100mg of caffeine. If it’s your first time using the stack, you can use not more than 100mg of L-theanin with coffee that has around 50mg of caffeine. I do not encourage you to use other sources of caffeine other than coffee. 

How they work together
L-theanin is an non essential amino acid. It is classified as a nootropic. How it works is by regulating different biochemical reactions in the body. It is largely found in green tea and few types of mushrooms. In smaller quantities L-theanin is also found in other teas such as black and grey. It reduces anxiety and blocks the excitatory stimuli. Because it effectively crosses the blood brain barrier it is also classified as psychoactive substance. Taking L-theanin also stimulates the production of the relaxing inhibitory neurotransmitter GABA.

Studies proved that taking 250mg of the substances can drastically reduce levels of stress and anxiety while improving alertness and mental focus.

Other research suggest that L-theanin can also help balancing the behavioral response to stress and improve conditions like mood and post traumatic stress disorders.

Caffeine is classified as central nervous system stimulant. It promotes wakefulness and alertness. It boosts the neurotransmitters Dopamine and Adrenaline.

My Experience
I found about the stack and the L-theanin in general was by accident. In 2016 I was messing with the heaviest nootropic for month and a half straight.
