Vivid dream:

Very bright, colorful and detailed dream.
Person is able to remember the entire dream or at least big part of it.

Lucid dream:

Person is able to either control the whole dream or at least some aspects of it.
Often this includes visiting specific places or doing different things.

Awareness is one of the most important factors when it comes to this type of dreams.
While having a lucid dream one is completely aware that he or she is in dreaming state.

How to get them?

1. Impressions, Oxygen and vitamin D.

Get plenty of impressions during the day.
The best way to do this is to simply do many different things.

I prefer stuff like: training, writing, filming, scratching on turntables, composing music, cooking and enjoying some great sci-fi movies.

A lot of people find meditation very beneficial.

I totally agree with that, but I have my own way of meditation.
It is called the art of scratch.

I do not follow any specific guidelines here. There is no need for that.

I let the things happen in the most essential way.

You can do the same as long as those things give you positive vibes and emotions.

Pick your own combination of things and make it work for you.

I believe it is more than important to really like them.

The more impressions you get the better.

Long burst walks are great, but make sure to do them in the nature or city and not on the treadmill.

This is how you are going to reap all of the benefits.

Oxygen load plus lots of impression, because of the things you see while walking.
Choose a destination or place you like and walk there for an hour.

This is something that always works for me.

Best scenario is to do it during the middle portion of the day or even a bit later.

This way you are going to absorb some natural vitamin d, because of the sunlight exposure.

Even if I do this I always prefer to supplement with more.

I do my walks in the local park, but you can use beach, mountain or whatever you prefer.

The only important thing is to feel great and comfortable spending time on the place of your choice.

You can also use a place which has some special meaning to you.

For me the park I talk about is the exact type of place.

When I am there it feels like I am able see all of my childhood dreams in the sky above.

The walk reminds me that I turned them into reality.

It might sounds weird, but this has a very stimulating effect on my brain and imagination.

To a very big extend feels like it opens my mind and allows me to see a lot of hidden details for everything I do and whole life in general.

When done post workout during fasted state, the walk elevates my mood and somehow increases the dreaming processes.

2. Break the pattern.

I am pretty sure most of us have daily routines that help to get the most out of our days, but when it comes to make those crazy, bright and colorful dreams occur, adding some variety here and there may produce very beneficial results.

Trust me this is not going to do any harm on the structure of your schedule.

Please do not get me wrong, I am not saying you should waste your time.

I simply suggest to strategically replace one of the things you do everyday with something completely different and most importantly fun.

You can try to learn some new skill, visit new place, or even rearrange your working space.

Just make sure to enjoy what you do.

3. Food combinations and Eating patterns

By accident I found eating only 1 giant meal right before I go to bed appears to be very beneficial.

Truth to be told this is what really made me pay attention to those types of dreams.

I do believe the 24 hour fasts followed by a caloric overload caused by a consumption of highest possible quality foods may be another key ingredient in the mix as well.

When I adapted to the combination of a ketogenic diet and one meal a day protocol, I started having the dreams at least few times per week.

After experimenting with different foods, I found things like:
fatty fishes, grass fed butter, whole free range eggs, coconut oil, local farm raised beef and full fat sour creammake huge difference for me.
A weird thing is that when I have some carbs in form of safe starches, I am able to enter the deepest phases of sleep a lot quicker, but I rarely dream.

The reason to point this is because I believe it is really controversial, since all of the dreaming occurs during the Rapid Eye Movement phase.

It is a well known fact that brain requires certain amount of glucose for the REM sleep stage.

I always knew my brain prefers ketones over glucose, but this another thing that proves it clearly.

Conclusion:

For me best dream producing food choices are ones rich in omega 3, selenium, vitamin B12, choline and of course animal proteins & fats.

My experience.

The brightest and craziest dreams I ever had appear to be mixture between vivid and lucid dreams.

They involve of all kinds different stuff.

Often that includes certain movie characters, specific places, people and things I like.

Sometimes I even dream about some mixed personalities or places.

In probably more than 95% of the time the stuff I dream is heavily influenced by things from the real world.

Somehow those things massively impressed me specially when I saw them for the first time.
Thinking about them makes me feel certain type of way and always involve specific emotions.

When wake up I am able to remember almost everything in details, so I guess this is what makes them vivid.

On the other side most of the time I am completely aware that I dream, so I guess this is what makes them lucid as well.

Based on my observations, when in dreaming state I do not try to change anything.

Most often I think about how awesome is everything.

I feel very strong emotions of admiration, happiness and curiosity.
In other words simply enjoy the ride and honestly can’t wait to see what is going to happen next.

I hope that makes sense. Good luck.
