Greater Hexagram Ritual Manual Overview

Introduction

After the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn collapsed, Aleister Crowley (and Cecil Jones) expanded the curriculum, essentially rebuilding it. This resulted in the complete system of A∴A∴, which included modified techniques like the Greater Hexagram Ritual (GRH).

Dual Nature

Unlike its predecessor, the Supreme Hexagram Ritual, GRH has a dual nature. It works with (both) planets, i.e., paths and Sephiroth, and Zodiac Signs. Seemingly more straightforward, GRH is (also) more versatile, working with the signs’ macrocosmic aspects. Hence, it (basically) targets the whole Tree. That’s minus the paths of the Elements and Malkuth. According to some, it’s more intentional. According to others, it can turn the temple into a Zodiac belt (based on how it’s performed).

Practicality

While it’s one of the most practical rites (I’ve encountered), learning its variations took time. So, I wouldn’t (necessarily) call it ‘simpler.’ It’s just that many of its intricacies are commonly omitted.

Correspondences

Considering that and my other products, I created a complete GRH manual. Besides colors, god names for paths, sephiroth, and signs, there are breakdowns of all forms and stages — invoking and banishing. Also, how the hexagrams map on the Tree, the most fundamental attributions, and the force(s) they work with. Based on what I’ve seen for 5+ of practicing, nothing really tops the amount of detail I put into it as both (practitioner and artist).

Learning while Practicing

The content and graphics ease one into learning by actually doing. Like all my products, the Complete GRH Manual is available on Etsy, Gumroad, and Payhip. Designed and written by me it’s about 80 pages. So, think of it as a small book (strictly) on the Greater Hexagram Ritual.

Getting it Right

Those enjoying my work will likely have a blast; to those new to it, I’d say the Complete GRH Manual is likely the tool to help them learn the rite the fastest. It doesn’t intend to teach you the Greater Hexagram Ritual; it is built to prevent you from getting it wrong (from the get-go). Produced with my younger self in mind, it is the GRH manual I wanted when starting but didn’t have.
